The climatein Thailandis exceedingly equatorial, warm and wet. The weatherseason are influenced by monsoons that create 3 different climateseasons in southern Siam and 2 contrasting seasons in south-central Siam. The south-west monsoon approx May to October is warm and many clouds, but in northeast monsoon around Nov to March is almost waterless and comparatively low temperature.
The island's weatheris the whole year beautiful. Clear days and a nice sea breeze nearly everyday. The best time for a visit, end of December to late of March will be the best tropical island experience.
There are some very nice resort or beachside hotel to very reasonable prices. You can see several great places on Koh Phangan. Had Rin Nai, Had Yao, HaadTien and Thong Nai Pan to name just some of the really popular ones.
There are roads to Had Rin, but we have warned you that the concrete roads are not in the greatest condition and unless you are a confident motorbike driver then do not attempt to get to Had Rin, as most accidents involving motorbikes happen in this area. Our advice is to leave your motorbike at the 7/11 at BanTai and pay approx 60 Baht for a pickup over the mountains to HaadRin.
Two of the most popular of the bays, Had Rin and Chaloklum always are filled up with sun worshipers but there's also less visited, more hidden beachesand bays.
Kohpangan's monthly Fullmoon Party is asia's best known beachparty, with international DJ's from across the globe lining up to get the honor of playing.
Phanganwas before a backpackersdestination, by now a different type and a mixed range of visitors visits the island. One tought most of guests have in common, want to search a nice and easy going place. One exemption could be the Fullmoon party when Had Rin Nok changes into a dancefloor.
